Climate
Phuket has a warm tropical climate all year round.

November until March is generally considered the best time to visit Phuket. The cooler North East monsoon keeps the temperature steady at between 75F and 89F (24C and 32C) whilst also reducing the humidity levels.

April to May is the hottest time of year with temperatures capable of reaching 95F. Frequent, short, heavy thunderstorms pass quickly but serve to reduce humidity and keep temperatures even. Thai New Year, Song Kran, occurs on 13 April each year.

The rainy season begins in May and continues until early October. Although this is typically the wettest time in Phuket, there are still long intervals of sunshine in between the rainy spells and locals favour the months of June, July, and August as generally benefitting from plenty of sunshine, short but heavy storms and more comfortable temperatures between 70F and 90F.

Insurance

As with all travel, it is strongly recommended that all visitors are covered by comprehensive travel insurance. Villa Inara shall under no circumstances bear any liability to any hirer, other occupier, licensee or other guest on the property (“hirer”) for any personal injury, loss of or damage to any personal property, car or contents of such car used by the hirer, howsoever occasioned, whether by act or omission of anyone in any way associated with Villa Inara, for the duration of the time spent in occupancy of Villa Inara.

Health Considerations

As with all travel to tropical climates, it is recommended that you visit your physician to determine which, if any, vaccinations may be required.

Unlike more rural areas of Thailand, Phuket is considered non-malarial therefore, as long as your visit is restricted to Phuket and its neighboring islands, you should not need to take precautions against malaria. However, precautions against mosquitoes generally are recommended and anti-mosquito sprays are readily available in all supermarkets in Phuket. All the bedrooms in Villa Inara are sealed at night and each room contains an electric mosquito elimiantor for you to use as required.

Being located so close to the equator, the sun is, of course, very strong and, even on cloudy days, can cause sunburn and dehydration. It is recommended that suitable sunscreen is used and plenty of water is consumed. A selection of sun tan creams and mosquito repellent are provided for your use although we would ask that should anything run out while you are there, you replace it for the guests that follow you.
Should you require any prescription medication, as well as bringing adequate quantities with you, it is probably sensible to bring a copy of that prescription to avoid any potential problems with Thai customs authorities.

Clothing

Light, natural fibres are generally the best way to stay cool and comfortable in the tropical heat. For the most part, most visitors dress fairly casually while visiting Phuket although for the smarter restaurants and nightlife dress tends to be smart casual tropical attire.

Travel Tips and Security

Although tourists do not often encounter crime in Phuket, it is always worth taking a few sensible precautions to take care of your valuable items. Also, bBring with you copies of your tickets and passport and keep them in a safe place separate from the originals. Should the originals be lost or stolen, then having these copies should prove useful in obtaining replacements.
